Advanced Plastics achieves Cyber Essentials

Oct 22, 2024

We are pleased to announce that Advanced Plastics is now certified with the Cyber Essentials scheme.

Gaining Accredited status demonstrates to customers, investors, and insurers that we have taken a proactive stance in protecting against malicious cyber attacks and external threats to the business.

Cyber Essentials helps us avoid the catastrophic consequences of such things as

  • Phishing attacks
  • Malware
  • Ransomware
  • Password Guessing
  • Network Attacks

What is the accreditation, and why is it important to us?

Cyber Essentials is a practical, government-backed scheme that helps protect our organisation against many of the most common cyber attacks.

Developed and operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), gaining Cyber Essentials certification enables organisations to showcase their credentials as trustworthy and secure regarding cyber security.

The National Cyber Security Centre states that undertaking the Cyber Essentials certification process and implementing even one of the five controls required by Cyber Essentials can protect businesses from around 80% of attacks.

Additional benefits of the certification include

  • Reassure customers that we are working to secure our IT systems against cyber attack
  • Attract new business with the promise we have cyber security measures in place
  • We have a clear picture of our organisation’s cyber security threat level.
